Forest surrounds us, we are home,

Upon the earth our soul is shown,

Walking together, warm cheeks glow,

Past branches, leaves, wet soil below,

Held within a green wooded dome,

As Gaian chords, the trees intone.

In awe of life and its biome,

The redwoods breathe like gods enthroned,

Peace we’ve found, sacred stillness grows,

Forest surrounds us.

Fresh air fills blood and cleans each bone,

A silent bird ‘cross branches flown,

No greater gift could one bestow,

Inside a temple, this we know,

Broken open by roots and stone,

Forest surrounds us.
