Holistic Transformation

Holistic Transformation is an approach to embodied psychospiritual growth and healing that has been taught internationally for the past 40 years. It is both a theoretical model and a practical tool that involves a specific kind of trauma-informed body work. This bodywork, also known as interactive embodied meditations, can be utilized therapeutically in one-on-one healing and with couples. It is also uniquely applied within a container for group inquiry that draws upon the community of the group, grounded in present awareness, to facilitate healing and transformation.

A bit of history

This approach was born in Catalonia, Spain, from never forgotten experiences of wholeness and embodiment, of two very different beings, Ramon V. Albareda and Marina T. Romero. The former being born a farmer but called to a spiritual driven life. The latter being born a cauldron of many unintegrated emotional references and called to dive in the depths of life's mystery to find the common root and truth of them all. They both started to explore the power of sexuality as life force and the holistic and cyclic nature of embodiment. Their work was born and named Holistic Sexuality.

Their always unfolding and transformational path lead them to California were eventually Samuel A Malkemus joined them with his own quest on flourishing from a place of wholeness. In time Ramon settled back in Spain until his passing to the other side on January 2022. Soon after they met, Marina and Sam joined their passions to further explore and transform the very nature of the work that now they named Holistic Transformation, focusing on Sexuality as in Spirit Embodied, and the Heart as in Cauldron of Becoming and Belonging while embodied.

Sam and Marina's new journey includes different professional routes but also the revealing experience of becoming parents and so rediscovering family, friendship, and belonging.

Qualities and tools

The work taps into embodied reality and wisdom through diving into one owns unique and dynamic embodied self. The exploration can happen in a solo or a group setting. It involves deep meditation states, interactive embodied meditations, and connecting to nature's cycles and rhythms. Playing and non verbal and verbal expressions are part of the tools basic set. Loosening up, curiosity, healthy and dynamic boundaries, differentiating and communing, driving and being driven, are qualities that we foster. The main quality and driving force being unconditional acceptance of what it is -within and around us-. Unconditional acceptance is key for Holistic Transformation to happen on its own accord. Physical touch, sensoriality and sensuality as inherent to embodiment are explored, restored, and freed from personal and cultural unhealthy restrains. Trust is fostered as inherent to embodiment for the later is about truly, spontaneously, and continuously becoming and belonging. Joy, beauty, and love, unrestrained from personal and cultural ingrained beliefs are qualities of this journey of becoming who we are as embodied beings. Understanding that you are always in the perfect place to start such a quest and journey is essential too. It is enough to get started, when you do, you are already there.

The core

Holistic Transformation looks for loosening up the embedded and fixed codes for being and behaving so one can drop into a primary and dynamic sense of embodied life and identity. A felt sense of ones embodied identity and its inherent awareness comes with the potential and call of reshaping the ways of relating oneself, others and the world. Such embodied identity and the connections or synchronicities that come with it, are a compass to better navigate the embodied state in which we are born. As we tap into our embodied identity we become an unique and dynamic purpose, a purpose that may not be seen but felt and that fills life with meaning and generates what we experience as joy, beauty, love, and a peaceful core.

Ultimately inhabiting ones embodied identity and growing its inherent awareness, brings transformation and healing, not only to oneself and others, but to the Earth itself from the place and time that we are inherently part of.

Applications

-This is to be reorganized and reshaped :D!-

HT is a quest and a journey. Being a personal path in the first place, it has the potential of tapping into new potentials of the existing professional path or of revealing new avenues for a totally new professional enterprise.

HT can become a therapeutic paradigm and approach, or it can help to realign oneself and the already professionally adopted therapeutic method.

As a therapeutic approach HT helps to dwell into a place of potential and possibilities from where we can approach trauma and chronic conditions in new and healing ways. Being an embodied and spiritual approach, it has the potential of re-balance the nervous system through physical touch and deep awareness.

From HT we can address sexual trauma in particular and spiritual blockages. We can also address the sense of isolation, feeling lost, and not being able to carry on with needed changes. HT helps too in the understanding of chronic conditions.

Deep listening and a healthy and appropriate level of intimacy as a professional is essential in HT. Professional boundaries and settings are set on such base.

The power of physical touch and the deep listening that it involves can be explored as a separate certificate.

HT can be a therapeutic tool for individuals, but for couples and families or communities too.
